This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, in order to further strengthen the cultural exchange between Zhongshan and Germany, Zhongshan Foreign Affairs Bureau, Zhongshan Culture, Broadcast and Tourism Bureau and the Consulate-General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Guangzhou jointly organized this cultural festival. InterCulture was invited to plan and execute the concert, which combined classical music with contemporary interpretation in an innovative way, allowing Western and Eastern music to collide and fuse, bringing a highly distinctive musical enjoyment and a cultural feast with international elements.

The concert featured a fusion of Chinese folk music and jazz, piano and violin solos, symphonies, vocal music and contemporary dance, and was performed by the "West-Eastern Divan" band composed of Chinese and European musicians, Zhongshan N Repertory Chamber Orchestra, Zhongshan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, German graduate Ms. Dai Jia-rong, Taiwanese pianist Mr. Huang Weixi, also a graduate of Germany, and Dutch contemporary dancer Kevin Pollack

From the “Foshan Sino-European Cultural Week” in the past two years to the “Zhongshan - German Cultural Festival” this year, InterCulture has made cultural exchange our mission, fusing Chinese and Western cultures and producing excellent and exciting content through unique creativity. Despite COVID and various difficulties to struggle with, we are happy to have realized a number of activities in the best possible quality. As the German saying goes: All's well that ends well! (Ende gut, alles gut!)
